Our J Anthony home is almost three years old now and we have had a great experience. In every custom build, there is something that goes wrong. We had been looking into several different builders who said they did custom homes, but what we found were builders who had a few set styles that can be rearranged; nothing met our unique designs. When we first met with the J.Anthony team we expected more of the same, but were excited when we found they actually created homes based on the client’s vision and not a flipped floor plan with the option of a game room instead of an extra bedroom. During our design appointment we went over all of our inspirations images and how we wanted the house to look. We had many unique ideas that we had never seen provided by anyone else and J.Anthony was confident they could get all of our ideas into the house. When it was time for our initial floor plan meeting, we prepared ourselves that not everything we wanted would be in the drawings, but again our expectations were exceeded when we saw our dream home on paper. From the internal courtyard to the basement layout and the hidden rooms to the master suite designs it was perfect. They even used some of our inspiration designs in the model they were building. Other builders we visited had us choose from a set layout with specific perimeters and with J.Anthony we were only limited by our own imagination. When it came time to see our elevation designs it was a surreal experience. We had nicknamed our home the Chateau over the years we had been planning for it, but seeing it drawn out brought us that much closer to living in our castle on the hill. Visiting the design center along with the granite and quartz warehouses was wonderful and gave us an extensive selection of materials to choose from to create individualized looks for our interiors. We enjoyed working with J.Anthony’s design staff to create our distinct style and knowing exactly what we wanted helped to streamline our time picking out appliances and the details for each room. Building a home is not a simple process and building one during Covid added an additional set of challenges that no one expected and there was no precedent. There are many different crews working together and there will be times that miscommunications happen regarding door placements, HVAC pathways and cabinet designs. Especially when creating a floor plan that was as specialized as ours was and the contracted teams have not seen layouts like it before. The piece that makes everything come together is patience and communication to get things back on track. Tony along with his team at Homes by J.Anthony, have been with us every step of the way to fix every issue and solve every problem to bring our dream home to life.
